Story of the rail velocipede pictured above...
'Odd' train destinations...
I was able to visit this summer. If you dive, you can get a pretty good look at it, otherwise not much to see. You can get a relatively decent outline image of it with a decent fish finder from above.. The park has a short, yet informative documentary on the train...
Is Rockome Gardens still operational in your neck of the woods?
I haven't been there since I was a kid, but...
Thanks. Unfortunate but what can you do. More and more quirky park's & roadside attractions are going that route. I'm just trying to add old Americana stuffs to collection - freak show, sideshow, roadside stuff mainly - having a difficult time tracking down "bird brain" & "Hendini" machines that are in decent enough shape to salvage or restore.
There is still.a company that has vending machines of plastic model/mouldings for attractions, like dolphins at the zoo for example, in the Midwest. Some interesting history behind it.
The trip with classic kitsch still has to be historic Route 66.
I could help set you up with a train car as my Daughter inlaw's father deals in train cars and parts.
There's actually one I have my eye on at the moment. But, where do I put it?!?!?!
What happened to the side car?
