Well, regarding the Foundation, that was based on the input of an in-law of mine, who is a make-up specialist. I was recommended a foundation because, at least for regular make up, it closes up the pores so that the makeup lasts longer (as in, it doesn't crack as much). Now... this might be more applicable to thin layers of make up, I suppose, since blush would be more noticeable when the skin wrinkles. I did notice a difference when I did my auguste style, but right now I have no comparison with the whiteface. Perhaps next time I'll try without the foundation. The lighting is actually a really good suggestion, though. Now that I think of it, I did notice the unevenness of the make up more in bright sunlight than when I was applying it at home.
