Are there any real clown schools left in the US, more specifically the Midwest
Clown camp in Wisconsin, and there one in Ohio
Moosecamp in Minnesota.
It really depends upon what type of clown training you're seeking, also. There are a fair amount of clown classes in theatrical and improv communities, though it will differ a bit from what you get in the more traditional oriented programs.
Clown Fest used to happen in Seaside NJ, but it got pushed out 2 years ago by either a biker or porn convention, and it moved to Lancaster PA. It didn't happen this year, and it's sad because back in the day, it was a really good event with people like Vince Pagliano, Pricilla Mooseburger, Bubba, Jim Howle, Betty, I don't remember all the names, but it was world class educators, famous clowns, magicians, entertainers, it was a week of constant education on all aspects of clowning and then some. I really do hope they bring it back, as I have fond memories of several years of attendance. My photo is from there in early 2000's.
I wish there were more training spots in mid west. It was be great it there was a list of 2017 seminars, classes , and conventions
As someone mentioned, Mooseburger's Moosecamp is in Minnesota not too far from Minneapolis. That's late July.
Then you have American Clown Academy in Ohio. They're in late August.
And then there's Clown Camp in Wisconsin that you mentioned. That's in late June.
In my mind, those are the big three right now, and they're all in the midwest.
I try to keep a list of conventions at http://www.justforclowns.com/calendar-of-events/
What skills would one acquire if he attended all three of those events? Seems to be a lot of great knowledge, and networking.
It seems that there is likely more clown and entertainer oriented events in the Midwest than anywhere else, actually.
Separate names with a comma.
