That sounds like a good plan. In my experience, all the comedy I ever created, comes out of play. It's so important and something that is discouraged as we grow older. By the time we reach adulthood, most of us forget how to play. Many don't realise just how important it is. They are to busy falling into line, being adults, get a good job, have lots of friends, find the perfect partner and make a family, etc. Play gets swept away, discarded and forgotten. When your focus is on being adult, being seen to play is embarrassing. Read the posts of most people on this forum if you doubt me saying adults don't know how to play.

Improv class reintroduces play into adult lives, reminds people of the importance and power of play. You can not be a clown without a playful mind, which is the reason why I discount, without any apology, the efforts of so many wannabes on this forum. From COAI Presidents to the 1st of May know nothings, they are all working hard, first and foremost, at being adults.

My signature encompasses a variety of aspects that are a quintessential part of my character and attitude. It shows an anger to the injustices wrought by religion. It announces a reluctance to be acquiescent to authority and demonstrates a rationale and freedom of thought unfettered by established norms. It also demonstrates an irreverent, anarchic and mischievous sense of humour.

There is absolutely no reason at all why you should keep your beliefs to yourself. You can be sure those with religion wont be keeping theirs to themselves. It is important to let those with religion know their ideas are not welcome. Religions have gotten used to persecuting anyone who refuses to accept the ideas they attempt to impose. (Read my signature.) Nobody has the right to impose their crap on you. We are born free, we are not born religious.

I too, would think a forum of clowns to be less judgmental but I have never yet discovered a forum of clowns.

You can get away with not believing in tooth fairies, Father Christmas, vampires, elves, pixies, even WWE Wrestling, but you can be sure in this place, any confession or expression of disbelief in the cosmic Jewish zombie, will elicit groans.

As for that sister church in Texas, I would stay well clear from it. The people might look cool and trendy, they might use the language of the streets, they might not stand on ceremony and cherry pick only the agreeable and nice parts out of the Bible, ditching most of the intolerance and bigotry. But at the end of the day, they will still be praying on the gullible and needy, making the same impossible to fulfil promises and wanting your money.

Poor little Cutie McGee stunk the whole thread up and earned her first groan :( How dare you say you're not big on religion? Next you will be committing the ultimate blasphemy and telling them you don't believe in WWE wrestling and think it might be a tinsy winsy bit fake!

I'd personally like to welcome you to the forum. It says on your "location" that you're from Texas/New York. Are you originally from NY or will you be coming to NY in the fall?
